Adoption Focus was recently chosen to be showcased by LoveBrum as one of its local charitable causes. LoveBrum champions charities around Birmingham, asks people to vote online for their favourite project and allocates funding based on the results of the vote. At the end of July, Adoption Focus was put up for a vote alongside two other excellent charities and, after a week of voting it was announced that we had won and would be awarded the top amount of £2000 in funding!
The photo above shows Kathryn from LoveBrum at our Marston Green office presenting a huge cheque to Adoption Focus CEO Anna, with administrator Ellen and adopter Gaynor also representing our charity. We’re really grateful to LoveBrum for their support and for highlighting our work. Thank you also to everyone who took the time to vote for us. The funding we’ve been awarded will make a huge difference to the activities we can offer to our Teens and Tweens groups.
Adoption Focus CEO Anna Sharkey said:
“Thank you to LoveBrum for this wonderful donation of £2000. Adoption Focus continues to support our families as their children grow. This generous donation will go towards funding our adopted teenagers group where young adopted people can meet with others who also know what it's like to be adopted and take part in fun activities – bowling, rock climbing, horse riding, or just sharing a pizza. The group is essential in allowing these teenagers to talk, trust, share and grow in confidence and we’re very grateful for the support of LoveBrum.”
