Adoption Focus is supporting initiatives during the first Midlands Adoption Week in February 2024. The campaign begins on Monday, 12th February with the aim of highlighting the need for more adoptive parents for children from the region.
Midlands Adoption Week sees both Voluntary Adoption Agencies and Regional Adoption Agencies across central England working side by side to draw attention to the need for more adopters for children of all ages, and from a variety of backgrounds, right here in this region.
Anna Sharkey, CEO of Adoption Focus said:
“We’re proud to be involved with the inaugural Midlands Adoption Week, working with our partner agencies across the region to promote adoption. We always welcome enquiries from potential adopters, whether adoption is something they’re just starting to consider, or they feel ready to begin the process. We’re particularly keen to hear from people who could consider adopting more than one child, as the number of brothers and sisters in need of loving homes increases.”
Statistics compiled by CVAA show that currently there are nearly 1000 children in sibling groups awaiting adoption, with around 300 of these in the Midlands.
