What is Adopterverse?
Adopterverse is our safe, online space for our adopters to connect, learn from and support each other and access useful resources from our adoption support team. It is a unique support tool created with and for our adopters.
How does Adopterverse work?
All of our adopters are given access to Adopterverse once they've completed their Stage One and Stage Two training. They can reach the platform through the secure login area of our website and access its features whenever they like.
What can I do on the platform?
On Adopterverse you can:
- Join or create groups to connect with other adopters online or in-person
Expand your support network by joining or starting a group. This can be based on geographical location, age of children or a particular area of interest. Members can meet in-person or virtually using apps like Zoom, or stay in contact via WhatsApp.
- Ask questions and get advice from your fellow adopters
As an Adopterverse user, you can ask for support from our other adopters on any aspect of adoption. Requests are routed to buddies with the most relevant experience who'll reply to you through your preferred method.
- Find advice and information curated by our adoption support team on a range of subjects
There's a comprehensive library of useful information on Adopterverse covering a range of areas including attachment, parenting teenagers, therapy, self-care, and schools and education. This includes documents, videos, book recommendations, two podcast series, and links to useful third-party information. You can suggest additional content yourself, or save anything you've found useful to your personal online library for easy access.
- Use the subscription service for the subjects that matter to you
If there's a subject or subjects of particular interest to you, you can subscribe to be notified every time a related new piece of content or group is added to Adopterverse.
How to use Adopterverse
Adopterverse is designed to be really easy to use. The main options are on the front page as soon as you logon via the Adoption Focus website. New users should set their profile as early as possible - upload a photo, write a few words about yourself, set your location and contact preferences and tick any buddy tags of interest to you. This will help you to connect with other people.
